Is Utah Broadband Available in my Area?
Utah Broadband is continually expanding our network across northern Utah. The easiest way to determine if service is available at your address is to use our online address checker or contact our team. If service is not yet available, we’ll be happy to let you know if an expansion is planned in your area.
What Internet plans do you offer?
Utah Broadband offers a variety of high-speed internet plans designed to meet the needs of households and businesses of all sizes. Whether you’re browsing the web, working remotely, streaming in 4K, gaming online, or managing a business, we have a plan that delivers the speed and reliability you need. Available plans vary by location.
What speed do I need?
The right internet speed depends on how many people and devices are connected in your home or business. If you’re unsure which plan is right for you, our team can help you choose the best option based on your needs.
Do you need a contract?
Utah Broadband offers two service options. Customers who sign a 1-year agreement receive free installation ($199 value). For customers who prefer not to sign a contract, service is available on a month-to-month basis for an additional $10 per month, which helps offset installation costs. This gives you the flexibility to choose the option that best fits your needs.
What are Broadband Consumer Labels?
Broadband Consumer Labels are FCC-required summaries that help customers easily compare internet services. Similar to a nutrition label, they clearly display important information such as monthly pricing, speeds, fees, and other plan details. Utah Broadband provides these labels to help you make informed decisions and better understand the service you’re choosing.

What is fiber internet?
How is fiber internet different from cable internet?
While cable internet uses coaxial cables originally designed for television service, fiber internet uses advanced fiber-optic technology to deliver data at the speed of light. Fiber typically offers faster upload and download speeds, lower latency, greater reliability, and better performance during peak usage times. This means smoother video calls, faster file uploads, and a better overall online experience.
If fiber internet good for gaming?
Yes! Fiber internet is one of the best options for online gaming. Its low latency helps reduce lag and improves responsiveness during gameplay, while fast speeds make downloading games, updates, and content much quicker. Fiber also performs well when multiple people in the household are streaming, gaming, or working online at the same time.

What happens during installation?
How deep is the fiber line buried?
In most cases, Utah Broadband’s fiber drop is buried approximately 3 to 6 inches below the surface. Because fiber lines can be damaged by digging, landscaping, fence installation, or other yard projects, we recommend contacting Blue Stakes at 811 before beginning any excavation work on your property.
What is a mesh extender?
A mesh extender helps improve Wi-Fi coverage throughout your home by extending your wireless signal to areas with weak or spotty connectivity. Utah Broadband offers mesh extenders for rent for just $5 per month, or you can provide and use your own compatible mesh system.
Can I use my own router?
Yes, you may use your own router with Utah Broadband service. If you prefer, you can rent one of our routers for $10 per month. Our routers are tested and optimized for our network, helping ensure the best possible performance and allowing our support team to troubleshoot issues more efficiently when needed.

Is there something I can do if my Internet is not working properly?
If you’re experiencing slow internet speeds or connection issues, the first step is to reboot your equipment. Many common internet problems can be resolved with a simple power cycle.
To reboot your equipment:
- Unplug the power from both your Utah Broadband antenna and your Wi-Fi router.
- Wait approximately 10 seconds.
- Plug the equipment back in and allow a few minutes for everything to reconnect.
If you’re comfortable checking your equipment connections, verify the following:
- The cable from Utah Broadband’s equipment is connected to the “PoE” port.
- Your router or computer is connected to the “LAN” port.
- The power adapter is plugged in and the device has a blue or green indicator light.
Important: Avoid pressing the Reset button on your router unless instructed by Technical Support. Resetting the router will erase your settings and may make troubleshooting more difficult.
If you’ve completed these steps and are still experiencing issues, please contact our Technical Support team at 801-717-2000. We’re happy to help!
What do I do if I forgot my username for my Utah Broadband account?
Your username is the email address you used when setting up your Utah Broadband account. If you’re still having trouble logging in, give our Technical Support team a call at 801-717-2000 — we’re happy to help!
Why are my Wi-Fi speeds slower than my plan speed?
Wi-Fi speeds can be affected by several factors, including the distance from your router, walls and other obstacles, the number of connected devices, and the capabilities of your device. While your internet plan determines the speed delivered to your home, wireless speeds may vary throughout your house. For the fastest and most consistent performance, connect directly to your router with an Ethernet cable whenever possible.
How do I protect my Internet connection?
We recommend that you secure your internal network by ensuring your router or firewall is password protected with a strong personal password. We also suggest that your wireless router be configured with encryption. Our technical support team can help you set this up or our Network Services Team can come into your home and help you configure your network.
Do you have data caps?
No. Utah Broadband does not impose data caps on our internet plans. You can stream, game, work, browse, and connect all of your devices without worrying about exceeding a monthly data limit or incurring overage charges.
